The Bachelor of Science Nursing programme is designed to empower students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to provide leadership in professional nursing practice, education, health care administration and participation in research. The graduates will be enabled to develop and integrate critical thinking and problem solving skills into the practice of nursing. The institution offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing in two categories:

  1.  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Direct entry). This programme is suitable for high school leavers with a minimum aggregate of C+ in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE),with a C+ in Biology/Biological Sciences, English/Kiswahili, Mathematics/physics and chemistry 
     
  2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Upgrading). This programme is suitable for those already holding a diploma. The applicant must be a Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) or Kenya Registered Nurse/Midwife (KRN/KRM) from an institution recognized by DKUT. Must be currently registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and posses a valid Nursing Council of Kenya practice license with a minimum of two years nursing experience.

    In addition, the candidate must possess: 
      
  •  A minimum aggregate of C in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE),with a C in Biology and English/Kiswahili and either Mathematics, chemistry physics or
  •  ii. Division II in Kenya Certificate of Education(KCE), with a credit in English, Biology/Biological sciences and Physical sciences
