On 18th November, 2016, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) and National Police Service (NPS) signed a memorandum of understanding in order to form a strong alliance in the achievement of their respective objectives. The MoU will enable DeKUT and NPS explore various collaborative initiatives for the growth and mutual benefit of the two institutions; boost provision of higher education through research, education, training and technological development in the areas of security management and leadership; enhance professional skills for staff in both institutions through training and exchange of information; jointly pursue initiatives aimed at enhancing theoretical and practical knowledge and establish other collaborative linkages which support their overall objectives.
DeKUT is already training some of the police officers under two programmes: Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Security Management and Master of Science in Security and Forensic Management. This new development will therefore strengthen an already existing relationship between the two institutions.

On behalf of Dedan Kimathi University of Technology was Prof. Paul Ndirangu Kioni, Vice Chancellor DeKUT witnessed by Prof. Gerald Muthakia, Deputy ViceAcademic Affairs DeKUT.
